Summer Twenty20 league

Rosaneri Cricket Club are pleased to announce a very exciting prospect for the mid summer of 2008.

Club officials are seriously exploring the prospect of creating a mini Twenty20 league. The idea is in its infancy, but it is envisaged that between 3 to 5 teams would take part and each team would play each other at home and away.

The games would be played in the classic Twenty20 format and would be played on midweek nights during June and July. Rosaneri will be using Lincoln Road as their home pitch.

The other teams identified as possible entrants are Jack of Diamonds, Edmonton School Teachers, and The Queens Head. This would make for an exciting competition with not much between all of the teams.

Results and league tables would be published on our website, and the winning team would receive a trophy and medals. There could even be prizes for the competitions leading run scorer and wicket takers.

Twenty20 is a brilliant form of the game anyway, but this added element of competition would make match day an even more special occasion.
