It's all for charity

Cast your mind back to the 25th of April and you may remember an article written by John Shuttlewood about his charitable intentions.

Well yesterday John stuck to his word and dug deep for charity by handing over £4.60 to Breast Cancer Research. The break down of John’s generosity is as follows:

11 runs at 10p per run = £1.10

1 run out assist at 50p = 50p

3 wickets at a £1 a wicket = £3

A spokesperson for Breast Cancer Research said, “John’s season may not have gone to plan, but we are very grateful for his efforts. We are just glad that he started bowling, because runs were not coming in the multiples that we had hoped for.”

John will get his head down during the winter and put in some solid practice to come out fighting for the 2008 season. It may not have gone to plan this season, but at least he has a benchmark to better for next season.
