Rosaneri on the main stage

News broke late last night that today’s match will take place on the 1st XI pitch at East Lodge Lane. This is a brilliant opportunity for Rosaneri to experience a big stage setting.

The move from the back pitch to the main pitch is not only a boost for the players, but it is also a boost for spectators as they will have full use of the club house facilities.

This game marks the 1st anniversary of Rosaneri’s first ever victory. Last years performance was a major landmark and the club has gone on an upward curve ever since.

Word is that for the home leg of the 2 match series that Botany Bay will be fielding a strong team. Last year we took on a 3rd/4th XI, but this year we have been told to expect a 2nd/3rd XI. Botany Bay have had a poor season at all levels and they will have a queue of players lining up not only to restore club pride, but also to get some runs and wickets on a personal level.

Ian Cully returns to the starting line up for the pinks for the first time since the clubs mauling at the hands of Enfield. He will hopefully notice a massive improvement in all aspects of the pinks team effort.

This clash will be a massive test of where we are against a well established club side. If we work hard in the field and keep the extras to a minimum it will give us a good chance of pulling off another famous victory.

In the absence of Mr Bell and Bloater, the wicket keeping gloves will be taken over by Ian.

Scorecards and match reports will be online as soon as possible after the game.
