Debutant secures prize

The votes have all been returned and The Man of the Match against the Queens Head was Gareth Cox.

Gareth made a sensational debut for the club by hitting a valuable 22 with the bat in tricky circumstances and then went on to bowl majestically and take 2 wickets.

The prize for Gareth’s match winning heroics is a matching set of Adidas shower gel and deodorant.

Below are some examples of what his peers had to say:

  • “I am nominating Gareth for his fine batting performance and taking a big wicket at a very crucial stage of the game."
  • “Gareth Cox.  Steadied a rocking ship with some positive batting and hefty blows, and bowled well picking up a couple of important wickets. It was a close run thing though between him, Jim (for good batting and bowling, and basically his score was the difference between the teams), and Nick for some tidy bowling and good captaincy - getting everyone in the game.”
  •  “After much deliberation I vote G.COX for a stunning debut with solid batting and great line and length bowling. I would say Sindrey has been unlucky and has run a very close 2nd.
