Use the force master Pits

The Wednesday night net is once more at Hoddesdon, but this week sees the start of something completely different for Rosaneri CC.

The new innovation is the brainchild of net regular Mark Cox. At last weeks rain sodden session Mark spotted an opportunity for the practice to continue longer than natural light would normally allow.

Mark noticed that the net nearest to the football grids was benefiting from the bright flood lights used by the footballers. It may not be up to the standards set for Twenty/20 floodlit contests, but it could be all that is needed to stretch the session.

The club already has a white ball for such circumstances and the anticipation of floodlit cricket has certainly grabbed the imagination of regular net goers.

A good session is anticipated, but if Mat Freeman is bowling under the lights, the batsmen may be swooshing around like Luke Skywalker when blindfolded and getting used to his lightsaber.

Proceedings will get underway at 7pm, and the England versus Germany match will be shown in the bar after the cricket has finished.
