Rain wins again
No play was possible as the pitch had become saturated over night.
The match was officially called off at 11am following a pitch inspection. This surely has been one of the worst summers for cricket ever. Who would have believed it was the middle of August when they drew the curtains back this morning ?
Some squad players did salvage a bit of cricket from the weekend by holding an emergency net at The John Warner Sports Centre when the rain eventually stopped.
