Match build up

The season is rapidly drawing to an end and today sees Rosaneri travel to Lowfields, Hoddesdon in a classic Sunday 40 over encounter.

Most Rosaneri squad players know the pitch really well as Lowfields has been the venue for 4 previous matches against The Portsmouth University Old Boys. The Pinks go into the match with a strong looking team particularly on the bowling front.

The two Underwood brothers will be called upon as all rounders, but their batting will be particularly important if Rosaneri are to achieve another victory. Tony Alfieri comes into the match in good form and will be looking to add significantly to his season’s run tally. Mark Cox also batted well in his last match and a big score is surely just around the corner.

On the bowling front, Mat Freeman returns to the team to boost the firepower and spearhead a strong bowling attack. Stephen Underwood’s bowling in the Harlow Town match was particularly impressive, and it is taken for granted that his impressive accuracy will continue.

Rosaneri’s all round strength is further highlighted by specialist gloveman Graham Tyrrell being back behind the stumps. Graham has been in brilliant form this season and is looking to secure the Golden Fielder with another solid display.

Every run must be battled for in order for us to be competitive at this level of cricket, and we must also uphold our excellent reputation of sporting conduct.

Scorecards and a match report will follow as soon as possible after the match.
