The ECB have announced that they will be hosting free online scoring and umpiring courses, available to any member who would be interested in developing their knowledge and skills, or interested in being able to support the Club (when we get back to playing cricket!).
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn some new skills whilst we are waiting for the current lock down to end.
As you'll know, umpires and scorers are a vital part of the game and the more of our members that can perform these jobs well allows the team on a match day to function smoothly in all aspects on and off the field. Plus a well kept score book keep our resident Stats Man happy!

This course is aimed at club umpires who just need to know the key laws and basic field craft and those players who umpire 5-10 overs at the weekend.

This course is designed to give an overview of the basic Laws of the game and how to apply them and introduce the principles of field craft and match management. This course is an ideal introduction for new club umpires, a refresher for existing umpires and the first step for those who aspire to umpire at higher levels.

This course is designed to provide you with all the skills needed to start scoring. The course covers the basics of scoring a game such as scoring symbols, umpire signals, dismissals and gives a helpful overview of the Laws.
These courses are all free and you can distribute the links to any club member that wishes to take the opportunity to enhance their skills.
