New fixture announced

The club are pleased to announce that Monday the 23rd of July has now been added to the fixture list as the decider against the Edmonton School Teachers.

The fixture will take the classic format of a midweek Twenty/20 starting at 6pm. The venue for the game is Lincoln Road, Enfield. With it being midweek, no tea will be provided.

The series stands at 1-1 after two fine encounters. This will be a real test for all playing staff as we know how powerful the Teachers batting can be. Nick will send an email to all contracted players for availability, and ad hoc players are asked to email the selectors as soon as possible if they can play. Obviously, speed is of the essence as we need to get the team sorted.

If midweek nets are anything to go by, we are building up to peak form. The net was very well attended and the standard of batting and bowling was very strong. Attendees included Kiwi Graham, Nick, Jim, Adam Jones, Tony, Mat, Shell, and Slaps.

Other fixture work is still continuing, but the proposed Friday night Twenty/20 will now not go ahead. Dates for the following midweek are being considered and further news will be posted as soon as it is known.

The Cotswolds saga still rumbles on, and there is no further news on this Sunday’s game. And I suppose, no news is good news. Because at least that means that they have not yet cancelled it.
