Fixtures work continues

Lots of work is going on behind the scenes in terms of fixtures at the moment, and I thought it necessary to keep everyone fully up to speed.

The Cotswolds trip is being looked at as a priority, and one suggested date of August the 19th has had to be declined as we have a confirmed fixture on that date already. Further negotiations will take place today and tomorrow and hopefully a date can be set as soon as possible.

Next week could see 2 midweek Twenty/20 matches. The dates in question would be Monday the 23rd of July and Friday the 27th of July. Both matches would effectively be deciders against the Edmonton School Teachers and the Jack of Diamonds respectively. We are just awaiting confirmation from Enfield Cricket Club that they can host both contests.

The final bit of fixture news concerns the Portsmouth University Old Boys game. As previously mentioned on this website, the fixture has been taken out of the normal selection procedures. This is for a number of reasons, but mainly to ensure an evenly matched game. Rob Tona is solely in charge of the selection for this match, and at present he is personally contacting players who he wants to play. The team will be finalised and published as soon as possible on the website, so that people who have not been selected are not left sitting by the phone with their fingers crossed.

Also, just a quick reminder to all ad hoc players. Please email your availability for all games to selection@rosanericricket.co.uk as soon as possible. This will especially apply to the 2 new Twenty/20 games if confirmed. The selectors want everyone to enjoy their cricket and will do all they can to accommodate as many squad players as possible.
