Road trip cancelled

The long awaited road trip to The Cotswolds was called off at 8 o'clock on Sunday morning.

The dreaded phone call informed us that it had been raining heavily for 2 hours and the forecast was due to get even worse. Club officials weighed up the position and decided to call the contest off before a long wasted journey had been embarked upon.

Most players found it very hard to take as the weather in Enfield did not appear to be that bad. In fact it stayed dry for most of the day and a home game would certainly have been played.

However, a phone call to our Cotswolds connection later in the day confirmed that it carried on raining heavily until 1pm. A period of no rain did follow, but the pitch was in no real state to play until the rain returned at 6pm
