Ringer alert

Team news is reaching Rosaneri club officials from The Cotswolds of Ringers being lined up to ensure a home victory.

In fact, if reports are true it could not be any worse for the pinks chances of pulling off a victory. Just when we thought we had seen the back of Scholesy and his one man demolition of the Rosaneri bowling attack, it emerges that he has now been signed up by our Cotswolds hosts. Last year, Scholesy played for the third team in the triangular tournament and we thought he would not be involved in this years proceedings. But some wheeler dealing from our Del Boy like host has secured the services of the man who nearly ended Marcus’ passion for cricket in one over.

Although Marcus is probably taking a large sip of water as he reads this article and trying to remain calm, the worst news is yet to come. Although far from confirmed, The Cotswolds selectors have lined up the ringer of all ringers. Worse still, they are actually trying to justify it by claiming that the player in question washes cars on a Saturday morning to qualify him as member of staff. For those of you that do not know our hosts team are supposed to be staff of a family run garage.

The player in question is no less than a current England under 19 spin bowler who can also “bat a bit”. Apparently he washes the cars at weekends to subsidise his college studies!

Betfair is usually a good guide to the truth behind rumours and it must be noted that Rosaneri have now drifted to 4/1 for the match which probably tells its own story. This is the biggest price the pinks have been since the players trudged off the pitch at the end of last years contest.

Whatever the truth in these rumours we must remain focused and stick together as a unit. Remember, whoever the batsman is, it only takes one ball.

Although, I am not quite sure how we deal with an international spinner, and I certainly do not have any war rallying quotes to help either !
