Cotswolds plan becomes clear

Details have now more or less been confirmed for The Cotswold’s trip. The match will take the shape of 2 innings of 25 overs per side. Rosaneri will wear pink shirts and the home team will also sport a coloured limited overs outfit.

Bowlers will be limited to a maximum of 5 overs per bowler, but there are to be no limits to the batsmen. The match is now scheduled to begin at 11.30am.

Tea and biscuits will be provided on arrival for players and time will be allowed for players to stretch their legs and inspect the wicket. The game will get underway and intervals for lunch and tea will be taken at the appropriate times.

Lunch and tea will be provided by the club who is staging the event in the form of an all day barbecue that will use locally sourced butchery products. There will be no set fee as such for food, as players will be requested to pay for barbecued meat as they consume it. This is a very similar arrangement to last year, but this year there will be set intervals for refreshment. Lat years barbecue was of the highest standard and the food was very reasonable priced.

If all goes to schedule the game should be concluded at around 6pm. This will allow for a nice drink in the clubhouse before we set off on the return journey.

Mini bus hire now seems out of the question, so we will be looking for volunteer drivers. Drivers will of course be subsidised from the match fees to meet the fuel bill.
