Those of you that are planning your cricketing week ahead, now have to contend with a slight change of plan for the Wednesday night net.

The incompetent fools at Hatfield sent me on a time wasting journey around every phone extension in the University before telling me that it was not possible to book the cricket hall next week because they are hosting a concert !

The facilities may be second to none, but the standard of customer service must rank behind that of a Chinese prison. The place is so shambolic that an amazingly quirky rule allows you to pay by credit card for block bookings, but not for casual and one off bookings. For bookings of less than 5 sessions, you have to turn up in person and make the payment in cash before they allow you to secure your booking !

The upshot of all this madness is that we are at Hoddesdon for at least another week. However, this may be a blessing in disguise as it means that all participants will get a lengthy bat in preparation for the back to back matches later in the week.

The net session will start at the usual time of 7pm, but the matches later in the week will commence at 6pm.
