Weather claims Walthamstow match

Sunday's match against Walthamstow was called off before the scheduled meet time.

A build up of a weeks wet weather culminating in torrential rain overnight, made play look very unlikely as Sunday morning woke up. The inevitable phone call was received at 11 o'clock as the groundsman had deemed the pitch to be unfit.

Ironically the further rain that was promised by the Met Office never really materialised. Most players that were due to play were probably casting a glance to the heavens thinking, we should be playing now !

Although disappointing, this is one of the major downsides to cricket.

Both sets of management are looking at dates to ensure that the match takes place in the 2007 season.
