Vs Hertingfordbury CC Friendly XI

This one was for the fans!

The Pink Army turned out en masse and the players put in a show not to disappoint them.

However, the early exchanges were a little uncomfortable as the home side raced to 56-0 in 5 overs with Stephen and James being decidedly wayward.

A breakthrough at either end started to get things on track and then Slaps came into play to put Rosaneri in total control.

The Slaps spell was roared on by the travelling fans and at times he was simply unplayable.

Jim bowled at a much livelier pace and Stephen and James returned to finish in much better form than they started.

Overall the bowling and fielding was very good and the home team were dismissed for 189. Arthur kept wicket immaculately apart from a sloppy bye off Mr Bell's bowling.

Rahul and Mr Bell bowled small cameos, but essentially we had only used 4 bowlers which made the batting order tricky.

The old guard of Bell and Mike opened, but they both failed to fire this week and the home side made early inroads. Tony, back after a lengthy absence, hit some beautiful shots and got a nice partnership going with Paul.

But two more quick wickets left the Pinks at 54 for 4. There were a few concerns on the away terrace

Nerves were soon settled though as "The Closers" settled in and went about their business. Both Darren and The Fonz made their 50's and in the process the Fonz moved one clear in the Super 6 Cup.

Victory was virtually assured when the Fonz was run out, before Arthur hit the winning runs.

A great day with top support and a top team effort.
