Vs Thorley

This was a new fixture for 2013 and already it is eagerly awaited for 2014.

Rosaneri confidently elected to bat with a strong looking batting department and the decision soon proved to be correct. The Ginger Ninja and Charlie set about things from the first ball at a consistent 5 an over.

Charlie fell with the Pinks off to a great start and the man averaging over 200 strode to the wicket. That average was heading into the 300s until Umpires Downing and Cuz somehow failed to signal a no ball from a fast chest high full toss that Darren spooned to mid off.

As a result Darren now averages nearer to the hundred mark and Jim and Cuz are off with Uriah Rennie to officiate in the Championship!

The Fonz arrived at the crease though in his usual relaxed fashion to support Mike initially and then kick on to ensure a great total at tea time. Cuz and Kurt played great cameos, but the star of the show was undoubtedly Big Mike.

Mike got to the magic 3 figures with some mighty 6's and retired before a mid wicket collapse occurred. Brilliant stuff.

Being a timed game Rosaneri needed all 10 wickets to secure the win. Thorley came hard early on, but Nick chipped away with regular wickets and the spectators were kept entertained throughout as favouritism to win shifted regularly from home to away.

Thorley were clearly on top needing six an over with plenty of wickets left, but James, Jack and Paul bowled brilliantly to turn the screw in the pink direction. Paul's figures in particular were amazing.

One wicket left meant crowding the bat with Darren brought into the attack and it worked perfectly as the stumps were rattled with 8 balls to spare.

A great win, but great respect to Thorley for attempting to chase down a large total right down to the 9th wicket.

Roll on the 2014 return!
