Vs St Margaretsbury

In previous years this ground has seen some of Rosaneri's worst ever defeats. A 1-8 football cup game and the famous 0 for 3 start thrashing at cricket. But Sunday saw all those thrashings avenged with a magnificent all round display.

Things didn't start that well though as Jim lost the toss and the home batsmen raced away at 7 an over without looking like losing a wicket. The 9th over saw Jack breakthrough and the whole pace of the game changed when Stephen and Cuz took the pace off the ball.

Control was back in Rosaneri's hand and Nick was unleashed to wreak havoc in the St Margs middle order. Eight straight overs returned a brilliant 4 fer and a superb full length diving catch capped a great afternoon in the field for Nick.

Coxy and Jack also held great catches in Nick's spell. Jim then came on for a quick 2 wickets and effectively the home innings was over.

175 was a fair score, but the Pinks were always confident of chasing it down.

Bell's early departure did rock the boat, but Arthur settled down with Charlie to produce a club record second wicket stand of 97. During this period Arthur batted with the style of David Gower and the determination Mike Gatting to woo the travelling fans.

Shot of the season was decided with a gentle two step glide and guided cover drive for four.

Charlie departed on 41, but Betfair had already gone 1.01 Rosaneri.

Mike came in for a few stylish swishes and Arthur remained unbeaten on 84 as the winning runs were entered in the scorebook. In this case those runs being a bizarre 5 penalty runs for the unused keepers helmet being struck!

Another win in one of RCC's best ever seasons, but above all a great team display.
