Club unveil new talent

Wednesday night saw another successful net at The John Warner Sports Centre. The session was well attended by 8 squad members, with the last ball being bowled at 8.40pm.

Rosaneri got some luck at last this season as they managed to miss the torrential rain almost completely. Play was impeded slightly as light rain persisted for 5 minutes.

Marcus used the time very wisely and went a long way to rebuilding his bowling career after Friday night's disaster. His line and length was good, and must now be itching for Sunday's clash.

Coxy got his act together in the bowling department as well after wise words from Club coach Mat Freeman. By the end of the night, a very handy "off cutter" had clearly been developed.

But the real attraction of the night was the unveiling of a new player to add to the squad. Adam Jones has now joined the club both in terms of football and cricket.

Adam is a classic all rounder with a touch of class. He bats and bowls left handed with text book techniques in both disciplines. The fact that he had not played any cricket in 12 years was not apparent as he slotted straight into an effortless groove with the bowling.

Batting has been the teams weakness this year, and Adam will certainly add a much needed boost. His style is relaxed and similar to a young David Gower. Adam will be added to the Ad Hoc list of squad players.
