Vs Hertingfordbury

The Rosaneri troops could have been forgiven for freezing when setting foot on such a lovely stage, but it was completely the opposite.

The Pinks hit the ground running and seemed pumped from the off.

Coxy got proceedings off to an excellent start by strangling the early run rate with an accurate line and length, while Mat kept the batsman rocking and rolling at the other end. Neither managed a wicket, but the run rate had a lid on it that was firmly closed.

Cuz and Nick then took over and the wickets started to arrive. During a great spell Nick secured his 100th wicket for the club.

The fielding was excellent with Marcus and Coxy the usual stars. However the Rosaneri debut wicket keeper seemed to forget at times that he had to catch the ball rather than pat it to the ground !

The home team did boost the run rate during the second 20 overs particularly with some lusty blows from a big hitting middle order, and at the end of the innings Rosaneri were looking at about four and a half an over.

The batting started very nervously with Mike getting caught in the first over. Marcus soon followed and at 10 for 2 the Fonz was very much required.

The Fonz took a while to get going, but it wasn't long before the big shots kicked in. Disaster nearly struck as he reached the mid 20's but a gilt edged chance was spilled. That was the last the home side saw of the Fonz as he powered his way to a magnificent century.

Slaps was tha able assistant, and was unlucky to come up short before a deserved fifty.

Sinders and Coxy saw the Pinks home, with Paul smashing a mighty six as the winning runs.

This was another fantastic team display to achieve victory at a glorious venue.
