Vs North Weald

Jim lost the toss, but that was the only thing that Rosaneri were going to lose with a line up like this !

The pitch was slow and pudding like so batting was always going to be hard work, and out of the two regular Rosaneri openers the smart money was on Big Mike to make the most of being able to plod along.

But it didn't work out as predicted as Mike looked scratchy and perished to a caught behind. The real surprise was that Mr Bell threw away his usual mantra of "Go hard or Go Home", and used another plan entitled "Go slow and Go to sleep" !

Joking aside though, this was the way to go. Mr Bell and Kurt batted patiently when the ball rarely got above shin height. Kurt led the run race, while Mr Bell contented himself with dropping anchor.

The real Mr Bell turned up in the 31st over and smashed a massive 6 to double his innings score, and this was the signal for the charge to begin.

Wickets did start to fall, but the scoreboard virtually exploded as the remaining batsmen whacked another 100 in just over 10 overs. Debutant John showing his rich class by batting imperiously.

New Steve and Darren also put together nice scores quickly.

Cuz made a very early breakthrough with the ball thanks to a great catch from Darren. Mat chipped in early as well, but then a period of defiance followed and RCC fans could have been forgiven if their mindset switched to a draw.

Rahul then dismissed the main man and the floodgates opened.

Jim bowled a great line and length to snaffle a four fer and Darren came on to bamboozle and finish things in prompt fashion.

Mike should be commended for his walking on a feather snick and Kurt should be applauded for surrendering a first ball stumping of a young batsman.

Jim however should take a slight slapped wrist for a double appeal for one that he thought had registered 10 on snicko-meter !

A great performance and well done to all.
