Vs Thaxted

Mi. Freeman - Fielded like a traffic cone and dropped 3 catches. But batted brilliantly yet again to nearly get the pinks to the winning line.

Rose - Bowled a couple of nice overs and fielded well. However the batting potentially showed a lack of net practice.

Leigh - Did a fine job behind the stumps and was mighty unlucky not to take a diving catch off thr premier batsman. Played the right shot when dismissed, but slipped at the point of impact and chipped a catch.

King - A great debut from our latest colt. Tidy little bowling spell and a great catch to dismiss the daddy batsman was then followed by an extremely mature innings to steady the ship at a choppy time.

M.Cox - Bowled two short spells with the first being considerably better and very effective at keeping good batsmen quiet. The batting was assured and thoughtful until an "old" Coxy shot did for him.

S. Shewring - Dropped a dolly and then luckily caught a repeat chance next ball to end up with very nice bowling figures. Smashed the bad balls while batting and took a nice lead in the Super Six Cup, but holed out before victory was secured.

J. Shewring - Worked the ball superbly well to have the home team on the ropes and unlucky not to return with more than 3. An off week with the bat.

Downing - Captained fairly and bowled nicely if not quite up to his best. The batting was a disaster though when more was required by the team.

Ma. Freeman - Top tight bowling as usual and even managed a cart wheeling stump. Left stranded when batting at the end.
