Be focused on Twenty/20

It’s Wednesday, It’s Hoddesdon.

For the 4th consecutive week Rosaneri’s midweek net will be staged at The John Warner Sport Centre in Hoddesdon. This week more than any other week could be a pivotal session in the club’s destiny. The focus shifts from classic Sunday 40 over cricket to the all action formula of Twenty/20.

In Twenty/20 cricket, the number of extras given away when bowling must be minimal if victory is to be secured. Therefore this last net session is crucial for those who wish to contribute effectively with the ball. Batsman in the match scenario will have to take more risks than usual so the key is to keep the ball on the stumps.

For the batsmen at the net session, the change is even more startling from what we have experienced so far this season. You just do not have the time to play yourself in as you would in a conventional 40 over contest. Therefore, early “playing in” shots in the innings must score runs as previously highlighted on this website. After 2 or 3 overs shots will flow more freely and the boundaries will follow.

For those attending, please use the session wisely and think about what you will be working on. This will ensure that your personal session is structured and rewarding.

The session starts at 7pm and could easily stretch until 8.45pm.
