Mi. Freeman – To paraphrase Gerard Houllier when referring to David Ginola and France's failure to qualify for the 1994 World Cup, “Big Mike is a criminal. I repeat; He is a criminal !” After recent fantastic performances, this was a diabolical innings.
Ebbs – Batted positively and was unlucky not to go on and get a good score. Took a nice catch for one of our wickets.
Tyrrell – Started in usual Mr Bell fashion and then went to sleep for 10 overs. Eventually woke up again to smash two 6's before departing for a very useful 34.
Rose – Fell to an lbw after setting himself up for a big innings with solid double figures in the locker. Bowled the weirdest over in cricket history with the scores tied and every fielder on the boundary. Turns out the sub plot was that the batsman on strike needed a 4 or better to top the club's averages for the year.
Akyuz – Put in another lovely cameo with the bat with overs running out. Scored quickly by punishing bad bowling and also taking risks against good bowling. Also took a great catch for the initial breakthrough when fielding.
Levett – Looked amazingly comfortable at the wicket while batting and stroked his way to a personal best 25. Clever nurdles were accompanied by lusty blows for a really impressive contribution.
Ma. Freeman – Got a long deserved chance to bat up the order, but was a victim of the earlier farce created by his brother as there was no time to play himself in. Bowled a beautiful spell that although it went for runs contained 5 or 6 of the best balls of the season.
S. Shewring – Pushed up the order to add quick runs and certainly obliged. 34 off 18 balls really helped give the pinks something to play with. Took a wicket to really add spice to next weeks finale for the bowler of the year prize.
J. Shewring – Threw more strops than he bowled overs, but did bowl very nicely and was massively unlucky not to grab wickets.
Downing – Got his bowling back on track this week to look threatening and keep it tight. Didn't get a chance to bat though as didn't face for the 2 balls he was in the middle for.
S. Underwood – More great bowling from Stephen and must feel robbed by not being given the lbw that he deserved.
