Vs Bentley

This game was most definitely the low point of the 2011 season.

There was no drive to win the game and we even had a peaceful protest that had parallels with the suffragette movement !

Rosaneri won the toss and positively elected to bat, but that is firmly where the days positivity stopped.

The person most upset with this batting fiasco will be Max Clifford as he has spent weeks rebuilding Big Mike's reputation, and then after only one week he reverts to his very best impression of Chris Tavare playing for the draw. Things got so bad that Mike only had one run on the board after 12 overs !

If this wasn't bad enough we then had the usually free flowing Mr Bell deciding that he was going to stage an on field protest against slow batting !

Mr Bell brought down the portcullis and played no more attacking shots until Mike showed signs of life at the other end. You couldn't write a script like this for Hollywood.

Somehow the pinks limped to 56 for 1 after 21 overs at drinks and Mr Bell then decided to resume normal service much to the delight of Rosaneri supporters. Two 6s and a stump rattle soon followed, but at last the scoreboard was moving.

Marcus, Kurt and Levsy really got stuck in and batted without caution to give the team something to bowl at. Mat perished giving it a go, but then Cuz properly smashed it to score 34 in just 18 balls.

After the dreadful start somehow a 200+ total was posted.

The Bentley innings was always going to be about getting 4 wickets as their middle and lower order was packed with kids. Unfortunately the Pinks could not get past the top order batsmen and the home team knocked off the below par target with ease.

The Rosaneri bowling was actually very good, but the fielding was decidedly average even though there were a few excuses due to injury.

This was a bad day at the office, and we must make sure that this type of poor performance doesn't happen again.
