The lighter side of cricket

Hello and welcome to my new weekly slot, in which I will attempt to bring you some interesting and amusing bits and bob from the world of cricket.

There will never be anything too risky for the workplace unless I give you ample warning. But most video clips will have sound that in most cases will be needed to get the full benefit of the clip.

This weeks offerings show some brilliant sledging against South Africa’s Shaun Pollock and an amazing batting onslaught by Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi.

The Shaun Pollock clip becomes even funnier if you imagine Pits as Mr Pollock. Just replace the sledgers use of “Shaun” with “Pits”, and a smile will appear on your face.

The second clip shows you just how to get about the bowlers in a Twenty/20 game. Afridi has a nickname of “Boom boom”, and you can see why.
