Vs Great Waltham

Mi. Freeman – This was Mike's best ever innings and in the process he recorded his first ever century for the club. It all started in usual Mike fashion with a maiden and the first 50 was nothing special in terms of speed, but the 2nd fifty was ridiculously quick and aggressive. A great knock that deserved to be on the winning side.

Tyrrell – Took two catches to have an outside chance of stealing the Golden Fielder trophy and batted in his usual no nonsense style. But didn't stay at the crease long enough for the pinks to have a chance of winning the game.

Akyuz – Lovely wicket keeping again to snaffle a catch and a stumping of supreme quality.

Leigh – A nice innings that had some top strokes in it, but skied one when looking set for a good score.

Rose – Captained well, but had to bat under the pressure of a massive run rate and perished when trying to get things going.

Ni. Shewring – Bowled a brilliant opening two overs and had figures of 2 for 3. Then an ex County pro came in and smashed good bowling everywhere to ruin the figures !

Hore – Superb bowling as usual, including the difficult death overs. The batting never looked fluent and another who had to give his wicket away for the cause.

Downing – Opened the bowling and actually bowled ok into a difficult head wind, but the occasional bad balls were punished by mega confident opening batsmen. Showed the right attitude while batting, but didn't register any runs.

S. Shewring – Had a good all round game with a well deserved 3 fer and a quickfire 18 with the bat.

Ma. Freeman – This was great Mat Freeman bowling and his figures did not do a brilliant spell justice. Came in to bat in the now usual circumstances of requiring a ridiculous run rate and never really had a chance.

S. Underwood – Got a bit of tap against the decent opening bats, but stuck at it to bowl a demanding straight 8. Didn't really bowl badly, but good batsmen just went about their business from the off and the figures suffered.
