Vs Dunmow

Rosaneri took part in yet another great game of cricket, but unfortunately walked off on the losing side.

Dunmow had a strong team and took the sensible decision option of batting first.

Things started off well for the pinks by snaffling a wicket and keeping a lid on the run rate with Jack's opening spell being of particular note.

Jim continued the good work with a 6 over spell that turned the screw on the run rate and also took the prize wicket of the Dunmow skipper.

Dunmow battled back hard though and the runs started to flow against the leg spinning duo of Nick and Slaps.

Eventually though the wickets returned and just as Rosaneri thought they were back on top a late power play style blast sent the home team into tea with winning aspirations.

Jim's earlier good work was ruined by him being bullied by a switch hitting assault from a highly talented batsman in the last over.

The Rosaneri players tucked into a superb tea and Captain Marcus delivered a good game plan for the chase with clear targets being set.

A bad start saw Rosaneri reeling at 29 for 4 before the Fonz and Faldo came together and got things right back on track with a 100+ partnership. Faldo Underwood was at his grumpy best and totally focussed on scoring runs while the Fonz just added runs quietly while remaining cool.

At 126 for 4 after 20 overs there was genuine belief.

Nick added quick runs with a 100% strike rate, and the rest of the tail followed suit by going for broke until Rosaneri required 25 from 3 overs with one wicket left.

Mat hit a shot that had 4 written all over it until a highly skilled 13 year old hand plucked the ball at full stretch to halt the match !

Jack was left stranded on 23 and undoubtedly had his best game for the pinks by also taking an excellent 2 for 17 while bowling.

Another top show, but yet another defeat.
