The man of the match versus The Cotswolds is named as Ian Cully.
One voter wrote the following;
3 contenders in my mind:
Ian: Fielded to his usual high standard and gave encouragement to the bowlers whilst being flayed to all parts by The Animal. He notched another well deserved half century, through a combination of hefty blows and intelligent singles that meant the bowlers did not get the upper hand, and that we remained in the run chase throughout.
Jim: Stats don’t lie! Superb bowling figures of 4-8, unlucky not to bag a five-fer...despite pressurising an umpire with a league-cricket like appeal! Didn’t score heavily with the bat, but scored a quickfire 15 at a difficult time in the closing stages when the run rate was rising.
Sarah, Lucy and Amy: An unusual one this – maybe our first non-playing and female nominations?! They deserve a mention for the great tasting post match tucker, and an efficient mass food production line!! I’m sure they’d get a thumbs up from all who filled their boots.
Ultimately my vote goes to Ian – great innings. Form is temporary, class is permanent.
