Vs The Cotswolds

Cully – Fielded very nicely and took the crucial catch that finally dismissed The Animal. Ian's batting was utterly differently class and he never looked in trouble until he eventually miscued and holed out.

Mi. Freeman – Made his now usual diving stops in the field to help restrict the flow of runs, and batted in an accurate and correct fashion for 22 overs. A nice innings, but not a Champions innings in the context of the game.

Akyuz – Made only one small error behind the wicket, but came out way in credit with two razor sharp stumpings. Batted with purpose and may not have lasted too long, but added vital energy to a massive run chase.

S. Shewring – Changed the game when eventually unleashed to bowl by making confident looking batsmen turn into quivering wrecks. Steve also put a great shift in with the bat to score quickly in a much needed partnership with Ian.

Leigh – Captained fairly and sensibly in a game where others could have easily lost their heads. Had to sacrifice his usual batting style for the teams cause and paid the price.

Sparrey – Bowled nicely without hitting top gear. Nudged the ball around well and quickly while batting, but perished giving it a go.

Ni. Shewring – If Nick believes in Karma he must be due a good run from the cricketing gods again soon. Over the last 6 weeks or so Nick has always seemed to be on the bum end of timing. Another day of bad luck was capped with a golden duck.

Downing – Bowled the spell of his Rosaneri career by delivering an amazing 4 wickets for only 8 runs, which also included finishing the innings from the pavilion end with two maidens. Tried to force the required run rate at the end when batting, but it simply proved too much.

J. Shewring – At an awkward time Jack bowled very well and was unlucky not to record a few wickets even though bowling against top bats. Jack's batting under under an almost ridiculous run rate was simply sensational, and the 3 consecutive 4's off Sandford will live with Rosaneri fans for a long time to come.

Ma. Freeman – Put in two nice bowling shifts and was responsible for the early breakthrough. Did what Mat always does with the bat by looking technically correct, but also aggressive.

S. Underwood – Opened proceedings and kept up amazing accuracy for a straight 8 overs. Came in too late with the bat to make a difference.
