Vs North Weald

Tyrrell – Played a starring role throughout the day with bat, ball and butter fingers ! The bowling did exactly the job that the captain asked for by breaking a stubborn partnership. Batted with incredible positivity with the highlight being a brilliant straight six off Bob Wood.

Hore – Batted in his usual assured fashion to gently build a match winning innings where time was not that important. Finished not out in what was his 2nd highest ever score for the club.

Jones – Recorded a rare duck but rolled back the years with a nice brace of wickets in a very rare bowling stint. Fielded immaculately and snaffled two catches.

Ebbs – Bowled a tidy two over spell, but the batting disappointed this week. Didn't put a foot wrong in the field though.

Akyuz – Very smart behind the pegs, but didn't get a whiff of a chance all day. Played some nice shots during a nice cameo with the bat.

M. Cox – Controlled the ball superbly against good batsmen in a lovely spell when bowling. Mark's fielding is literally too good for our level of cricket.

J. Shewring – Bowled in two spells from different ends and was excellent during both. Got the ball to swing at speed and at times was too good for the batsmen.

Ma. Freeman – Got his action back this week and bowled in the old fashioned Mat way. Got a deserved wicket and another who fielded very well.

N. Shewring – Bowled a load of overs and bowled well, but just didn't get the breaks to add numbers to the wickets column.

Downing – Put in a great shift with the ball to record his best figures of the season and genuinely bowled very accurately. Took two catches at the death to move up the Golden Fielder rankings.

Mi. Freeman – Played as a bowler in the end, but looked knackered after his 4 overs and decided not to bat due to exhaustion. Did take the catch of the year though off Mr Bell and made good diving stops.
