Vs North Weald

This was a good win for Rosaneri that came about through good bowling and outstanding fielding.

However, it must be noted that North Weald were weaker batting wise than in previous years.

Rosaneri won the toss and asked the home team to bat. Early wickets did fall, but not in great number and the top order steadily went about their business.

The pressure being created by excellent fielding made the batsmen very cautious with anything straight being defended. Things were perfectly under control in terms of run rate, but a break through was needed to get into the tail.

That break through was provided by the partnership breaking bowling of Mr Bell.

Mr Bell provided the script and Big Mike provided the drama with a sensational diving catch. That moment literally opened the floodgates and the tail were blown away with more good catching and accurate bowling.

Adam blew away the bowling cobwebs at the end with a nice brace to bring the curtain down on the North Weald innings. The pinks had bowled an energy sapping 48.4 overs.

The Rosaneri reply began with a ban on 2's as Rahul and Mr Bell strolled their way to leisurely singles or boundaries.

Mr Bell went aerial early with the highlight being a straight six off Bob Wood.

Rosaneri were clearly in cruise mode until some very accurate bowling and a series of maidens slowed things down to a crawl.

An unlucky and bizarre dismissal for Mr Bell robbed him of a well deserved half century, and others never really got going on a slow and low pitch.

However, Rahul calmly carried on to raise his bat and score the winning runs.

It was nice to get back on winning tracks and let's hope it continues.
