Vs Buckhurst Hill CC Sunday 'B' XI

Mi. Freeman - Batted a lot quicker than last week (it couldn’t have been any slower!) but for the third time this season fell in the forties when looking set for a big score.  Fielded to his usual standard with plenty of diving stops ensuring that his whites were more green at the end of the day.

A. Ebbs – Became the ‘Pinks’ second ever Colt and came in late doors to rescue the Rozzer's to ensure we had a full team of 11.  Opened with Big Mike and was unlucky to hole out after a well made 22.

S. Leigh – Batted very well to steer the team passed the hundred mark and just when another 50 against BHCC looked on the cards fell to a rash shot.  On another day would have held the skier and got down to the ball instead of it going for 4.

M. Cox – Played a lovely cameo with the bat until he was caught plumb in front for 10.  After an uncharacteristic early misfiled came back to perform at the highest level.

G. Tyrrell – Match day skipper and lead his team very fairly and nearly to a fantastic win.  Batted very cautiously and nearly saw his team over the line.  Struggled at times behind the stumps especially during Mat’s wayward overs.

M. Levett – Dot ball, four, bowled summed up Levsy’s day.  But was nice and safe in the field whilst fielding in some new positions for him.  Went through nearly a pack of tobacco during the tense finish but was made up with the after match curry, enjoying two platefuls!

J. Shewring – Fielded well, bowled aggressively, abet a bit short at times and lost his run up on numerous occasions.  Picked up a nice caught and bowled but when will his form return with the bat?

S. Underwood – Bowled a lovely controlled spell after the opposition had got off to a flyer.  Snaffled the wicket of the big hitting number 3 and had the respect of all of the other batsmen.  Hit one great four but had a similar innings to Levsy.

S.Shewring – Has been a revelation opening the bowling this season and his mixture of deliveries had the batsmen thinking at all times.  Held a magnificent one handed caught and bowled to take the first wicket then nearly saw the team home with the bat whilst making 15 precious runs.

Ma. Freeman – A rare off day for Matt with bat and ball.  Struggled for line and length from both ends but did pick up a nice LBW.  Got a leading edge whilst batting when all Rosaneri eyes were on him in the hope of him guiding us to a famous victory.

G. Sparrey – Bowled a tremendous spell of controlled and varied leg spin.  Should have had many more wickets than the one he did pick up.  Fielded excellently and remained not out at the end when victory was in sight.  And all this after getting home during the early hours of the morning after a stag do!
