Vs Chesterfords

Tyrrell – Worked with Big Mike to set the perfect tone of defiance and a moving scoreboard that made victory possible. Got a grubber to end a good days work.

Mi. Freeman – Got his head down to virtually see off a fierce opening 16 over stint from the quicks, but unfortunately snicked one to the keeper before completing his task. Got the fielding all wrong though by trying to take other peoples catches !

Alfieri – Did his usual good work in the field, but really came of age with the bat. Didn't record a big score, but withstood all that the opening bowlers had until a couple of balls from the finish line.

Leigh – Played a very valuable captains knock to secure runs and keep the run rate under control at a critical time. A large six was a particular favourite of the crowd.

Rose – The journey as a batsman continues and this was another step forward. Not a massive score, but all priceless runs against a top team.

Akyuz – Great keeping on a really difficult pitch for the keepers and then added gritty runs in the middle order.

Downing – Bowled a very nice line and length to restrict the home team and unlucky not to take a wicket. The batting didn't really happen.

Hore – Wow, what a performance ! Established a new record while bowling with 6 for 19 and then came out with the bat to top score and stroke the winning runs.

Ma. Freeman – Didn't bowl too well this week by his usual high standards, but there were footing issues. However, the batting didn't let anyone down with a super assured twenty odd not out. Also held onto a skier while fielding as Mike did his best to put him off.

McHugh – Another who did not bowl at his best, but still did enough to remove a dangerous looking opening bat and another from the top order. Bruising from the Big Mike collision will still be coming out.

G. Cox – Actually bowled poorly this week, but did have to contend with a strong head wind and top batsmen. Needs to bounce back against the Cotswolds.
