Vs Thaxted

Tyrrell – Looked in top form and blasted early runs with a glorious straight 4 being the highlight. Undone by a jaffa otherwise the bat could have easily been raised for another ton.

Mi. Freeman – Batted patiently as only Mike can, but ultimately timed his innings to perfection and was most unlucky not to record a deserved half ton.

Leigh – Had the wow factor while batting and you simply couldn't take your eyes off him. It all happened very quickly, but boy was it exciting.

Akyuz – Had an off day with the bat, but kept wicket very well as now has become the norm.

Levett – Bold stroke play was entertaining, but ultimately was his demise. The bowling was accurate and provided many wicket taking opportunities.

A. Underwood – Hit two fours and all looked good, but then was given out lbw and moodiness ensued. Had a go with the ball, but didn't take risks and didn't get an ounce of luck. Did take a nice catch at the end though.

McHugh – Returned sensational figures and actually recreated that special wicket when Shane Warne bowled Gatting round his legs !

Downing – A classic Jim innings that took a while to get going, but then blended the perfect balance of good cricket shots with attack focused on the bad balls. Dropped and took a catch.

G. Cox – Played a couple of great shots and then as so often played all round a straight one. Bowled very well to notch more victims.

Ma. Freeman – Batted very well at the death to make sure the team crept over the 200 barrier. Reacted well as Captain to a game that lurched away from the expected to give everyone a good day out.

S. Underwood – Looked the part with the bat and bowled very well. Especially after have 3 slices of chocolate cake at tea !
