Fixture chaos has descended on Rosaneri Cricket Club in a very stressful week for the club’s fixture secretary.
Firstly, The Cotswolds match is now definitely not taking place on the original date of the 8th of July. This was dropped like a bombshell when the contact at their end phoned up to say that there had been a mistake in booking the pitch. The match will certainly be played, but we now need to thrash out a suitable date when the pitch is available. So far, options vary from late June, mid July, and most of August.
I will endeavour to finalise the new date as soon as possible. I can also only apologise to those that may have made arrangements to ensure their participation already. The website will have full details as soon as they are known.
Secondly, we also have a problem with the Friday night Twenty/20 game against Edmonton County School Teachers. They too have encountered a problem with pitch hire. This may be remedied by moving pitches, but it may also involve a change of date. We did propose bringing it forward a night, but this is also not possible. Further details will again follow very shortly.
We still have other matches that need firming up on the official fixture list, and news will be appearing as soon as the juggling of dates has been completed.
The club are also seeking to add further fixtures to boost our total tally of matches. Work on this front is continuous and Club officials are making a massive effort to quench the players thirst for more and more cricket.
