Vs Nazeing Common
Mi Freeman - This was one of Mike's finest innings for the club. Not only did he hold the batting together he also found the needed acceleration at the right time. A top effort. Alfieri - Looked good with a flashing drive for four, but departed too quickly to make a major impact. Fielded with heart and energy to save crucial runs. Leigh - Got caught by a wonder catch and bravely kept wicket after an early injury. Rose - Looked edgy and never settled with the bat. Put a good shift in while fielding though. Tyrrell - Hit the ground running with his batting and aggressively took the game to the oppo. Got the defence of his six trophy off to a good start and also took a nice catch. Sindrey - Helped out a short notice like the great clubman we have now come to expect, but unfortunately further hurt his back while batting nicely. Downing - Poor shot to get out, bowled ok, but capped an overall bad day with some dreadful ground fielding. S. Shewring - Chipped in with a sharp 14 while batting and then bowled nicely to snaffle a brace of wickets. G. Cox - After an awful first ball never looked back and made life really difficult for the home batsmen and deservedly ended up with a 3 fer. Ma. Freeman - Batted in his usual assured style to eek out valuable runs and then bowled at full power to grab 3 wickets with stints at both ends. Ni. Shewring - Bowled well without really generating as many chances as usual. The wickets will start to flow though in the next few weeks for sure.
