The first daff has been sighted

Every cricketer knows that when the first Daffodil is seen the cricket season is only just around the corner, and historically there is always an unofficial race at Rosaneri to locate the first one seen of every year.

This years race to the first daff was won by Mr G. Bell of Cheshunt.

Mr Bell is a keen botanist and prides himself on being the club's expert on all things to do with flowers, so it is very appropriate that he wins the race to the first daff this year.

The daff in question was spotted and photographed by Mr Bell ironically on his way to a Gardeners World book signing session !

Now that the first daffodil has been spotted, it means that the first ball of 2011 can't be that far away.
