Vs Bentley

Rain, rain, go away, come back another day summed up a frustrating day for the pinks.

The day didn’t get off to a dream start with Mat and Paul being dispatched in the opening two overs, but both pulled their socks up and battled back hard to bring the run rate down to a more manageable level.

Rahul took over from Mat at the clubhouse end and bowled a real run stopping spell that helped put a firm lid on the run rate and give the pinks a feeling of control.

Gareth and Cuz put in good shifts at the road end and Nick make the crucial breakthrough after picking up the baton from Rahul.

Nick went on to pick up his usual 2 fer to put himself at the top of the bowling averages for the season.

Heavy drizzle engulfed the pitch during the 30th over after which our bowlers visibly began to struggle with run ups and a wet ball.

However, Paul managed to bowl the danger man with what turned out to be the last ball of the game.

A chase of just over 200 looked a real prospect with a strong Rosaneri batting line up, but we will never know as the drizzle did not relent and the game was eventually abandoned.
