Vs Great Canfield

The home side were invited to bat and that big decision was soon rewarded when Gareth made an early breakthrough.

Gareth struck again and Rahul capped his debut with a nice clean bowled to put Great Canfield firmly on the back foot.

A period of stabilization was soon followed by aggressive counter attacking to get the contest very much back on track.

Mark Cox and Levsy then joined the party to claim 3 middle order wickets that saw Rosaneri back in the driving seat with the pedal to the metal.

Jim and Gareth wrapped up the tail and Great Canfield were all out for 129 with only 32 overs bowled.

Then came a curve ball courtesy of the fact that the milk hadn’t arrived for tea. Rosaneri were asked to bat for 10 overs to allow time for the milk to arrive.

This proved a tricky period for the pinks and two Shewring’s perished against a great opening attack. Stephen Underwood held firm though and tea was taken with both teams reasonably happy.

Tea itself is almost deserving of its own report, but I will grossly undercook the superlatives by calling it magnificent.

The post tea period saw the Underwood brothers play sensibly to bring the target into focus. However, Stephen departed for a superb 48 and a small wobble saw Andy and Coxy follow in quick succession.

Home hopes were dashed though with the ever trusty Mat Freeman and Levsy doing what was required with 8 overs to spare.

A good win, at a great location against amazing hosts.
