v Harlow Town Vets

G. Tyrrell – The big man turned in a nice all round performance this week with a quick fire 16, including a towering 6, 2 tidy overs and a sharp ‘telly’ slip catch.

Mi. Freeman – The only outfielder not to bowl due to a knee injury but fielded close to the bat for all 53 overs taking a regulation catch and was unlucky with two other diving attempts.  Solid but painstakingly slow with the bat.

S. Leigh – After two good overs of off spin Shell then went onto bat really well, leaving the good balls and dispatching the bad, until frustration got the better of him and he holed out to mid off.

Ma. Freeman – Secured his first win as team captain.  Juggled the bowling really well and captured a nice wicket for himself.  Then went on to record his highest ever score for the Club and was unlucky that the target was reached before his first 50 was achieved.  A genuine all round cricketer.

K. Akyuz – Kept very well as normal and picked up a sharp catch off of Nick.  Unluckily run out by the captain after only facing 3 balls.

M. Levett – Caught Ma. Freeman, Bowled M Levett will go down in Rosaneri history as Levsy grabbed his first wicket for the team.  He then went out and attacked the bowling with his usual vigour scoring a brisk 18.

P. Sindrey – Took an amazing one handed catch at square leg to dismiss the opener and then proceeded to bowl and nice line and length which culminated with the wicket of the opposition’s top scorer.  Batted steadily to ensure he was at the crease when the winning runs were hit by the skipper.

G. Cox – For the second week running Gareth bowled an amazingly controlled spell with out any reward.  Surely the wickets will materialize again soon.  Fielded brilliantly in the deep to stop numerous runs to the delight of all the bowlers.

M. Rose – Thrown the ball by the captain after only three overs of the innings and made the all important break through.  Then went on to bowl two steady spells and ended up with another good wicket.

J. Downing – Asked to be taken off after not being able to control the new ball but then came back to make the ball swing and seam both ways.  Bowled with great economy but with out any reward.

N. Shewring – In his first game of the season after major hip surgery Nick picked up his normal 3 fer against the Vets. The ball fizzed out of the hand like he had never been away as he bowled with accuracy and venom.
