Vs Theydon Bois

Mi. Freeman – Batted really well and looked after Jack perfectly on his debut. A tired looking run out meant he was unlucky not to go on and record another fifty. Bowled a lively little spell that reaped a wicket as well.

J. Shewring – Looked calm and assured in a superb debut 42. Fielded with energy and class, and even squeezed in a couple of top overs for good measure.

Shuttlewood – A great comeback following a years absence and spent valuable time at the wicket to accumulate 10 runs. The bowling did look rusty however.

M. Cox – Looked ok with the bat, but really came to the party with the ball. Got the line and length spot on to put the batsmen under pressure and harvested a superb 4 fer. His brilliant fielding rounded off a superb performance.

Akyuz – The batting has come on leaps and bounds this season, and this was another nice contribution for the team. The keeping was sharp and focused with the highlight being a sharp stumping off Jim.

A. Underwood – Got the run rate cranked up when needed and was most unlucky to get a shooter onto the stumps.

Sindrey – Captained in a very caring and responsible way to give everyone a great day out. Batted very nicely as well with the highlight being a towering straight six into the allotments.

G. Cox – Added quick runs in his usual fashion and bowled nicely without reward.

Downing – Bowled nicely apart from a wide or two too many early on, and held a very good catch that came down from the clouds.

Sparrey – Another great spell of leg spin bowling that made the batsmen look very jumpy from the very first ball. Two good scalps were secured with excellent thinking.

S. Shewring – Steve’s new “Mix it up” approach to bowling has been a revelation and this week was no different. The speed and length varied greatly and super economic figures were returned.
