Vs Holtwhites Trinibis

Rosaneri have enjoyed some famous victories in the past but this one will have to rank up there with the best of them.

The home side were keen to bat after winning the toss and apart from an early Gareth breakthrough they never really looked troubled on a batsmen friendly pitch.

Fielding from the pinks ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous, but overall we were probably just in credit. Mat bowled his usual reliable run containing stuff and Gareth as we expect chipped in with wickets, but the real star of the bowling line up was Steve Shewring who mixed line, length and speed to magnificent effect.

At tea spirits were high and there was a real Escape to Victory like feeling of “Come on we can give this a go.”

Mr Bell led from the front in a magnificent 90+ opening partnership with Big Mike that literally shattered the fielders confidence. Big Mike was actually unfortunate to find a fielder with a powerful shot that stopped a potential club record partnership in its tracks.

The good work continued though and Mr Bell went on to raise his bat and take the applause on a magnificent century. The petrol did run out though and Mr Bell passed the baton to Andy and Jim to finish the work.

There was still 7 or so an over to get, but crucially wickets were in hand and things ticked along smoothly with the run rate being carefully maintained.

Andy played a real captains innings to play sensible strokes and guide his troops to the winning line. Jim went along nicely at a run a ball, but unfortunately departed before the victory was secured.

Some Rosaneri fans had to pinch themselves as Andy struck the winning runs as a magnificent victory had been wrapped up with the minimum of fuss.

This certainly puts the T20 fiasco well behind us and stands us in perfect order for next weeks big clash against The Cotswolds.
