Great work, but defeat

Tyrrell – Kept well on a difficult pitch with shocking early bowling, and just as the bowling improved he had to stand down due to a hand injury. Batted well to get the pink reply off to a super start.

Mi. Freeman – Played superbly to record a gritty 53. Started at virtual T20 pace and even managed a huge six, but the sun took its toll and the pace slowed to a crawl as he reached fifty. A great knock, but needed one more batsmen from the tail to help out with the runs to secure victory.

Alfieri – Confidently hit a four with his first ball, but was undone with a peach of a second delivery.

S. Shewring – Took a nice catch, but the batting never got going.

Downing – Bowled well to take the daddy wicket as per the captain’s orders and batted very nicely to give Rosaneri genuine hope of victory.

A. Underwood – Bowled, Fielded, Kept wicket and batted all in one game ! A first for the club. The wicket keeping was his best discipline by far.

G. Cox – Bowled off his usual high standard this week, but still picked up a wicket. The batting ended with a golden duck.

Sindrey – Captained immaculately and bowled to his very best level on a pitch which didn’t really suit his style. The batting also looked sharp and capable of securing pink victory until he was run out.

Mitchell – A poor first spell, but came roaring back with a magnificent second spell. Jimmy’s poor run with the bat continues with a golden.

Ma. Freeman – The best all round bowling display with great control that was capped by a brilliant wicket with a perfectly disguised slower ball.

Sparrey – Bowled much better than his bare figures suggested by having 3 dolly catches put down. Got the better of the batsmen on numerous occasions and certainly can be considered most unfortunate.
