Vs Botany Bay

Tyrrell – Kept wicket nicely and ended the home innings with a sharp catch. Batted in his usual dominant fashion but departed too quickly.

Mi. Freeman – Put together a very assured 30 runs in an unhurried way to make sure Rosaneri didn’t make a mess of a routine run chase.

Leigh – Captained very well to ensure that everyone had a fair chance of a game and still managed to win the contest with a minimum of fuss. His batting was disappointing after a smart start to his innings.

B. Underwood  - Fielded in the usual bizarre but effective way and batted with a sense of style and purpose. Unlucky not to go on and record a good score.

A. Underwood – Took a nice catch that the old unfit Bloater may not have got to. Batted like Mike’s apprentice and looked like he could stay their all day until he was unceremoniously run out.

Downing – Still hasn’t had a chance to bowl properly due to the pace guys doing so well, but did pick up a wicket when given a brief chance. Batted confidently to see the pinks home.

Ma. Freeman – Bowled yet another restricted spell, but did get a chance with the bat for the first time this season.

S. Shewring – The bowling radar was not yet switched on for the season, but did snaffle a wicket to get off the mark. The batting looked in tip top shape though as he smashed Rosaneri to victory in double quick time.

Rose- Had a few hiccups with the bowling but did deserve his wicket once he settled into a rhythm.

Sindrey – Bolwed a high class straight 8 over stint to let Botany Bay know that they were clearly second favourites in this contest. He only secured the one wicket, but boy what a ball to do it with !

G. Cox – Actually started in slightly shoddy fashion following his recent high standards, but soon got it very right to return a magnificent 5 wicket haul. The pick of the wickets was a smart caught and bowled to take out the star batsman.
