Great work all round

Tyrrell – Opened the batting with an assured and confident aura to put Rosaneri on their way to a very good total. Played some lovely shots and unlucky not to go on and record a fifty.

Mi. Freeman – Looked comfortable until slightly misjudging an attacking stroke to get caught. Fielded well, but the timing of the dives is not quite back yet.

Leigh – Poor shot selection put Sheridan in front in the Duck Race, but saved his day by bowling to the captain’s orders to snaffle an important wicket.

Alfieri – Unlucky to run into probably the fastest bowler we will face all season with splayed stumps signaling the end after only one run. Saw lots of action in the field and did it well.

Akyuz – A nice four and then disaster to keep the batting average compressed. Kept wicket very well and pouched a routine catch to get off and running in the Golden Fielder.

A. Underwood – Dug the pinks out of a hole in fine style. Kept the ball mostly on the deck and never really looked in trouble. Very quiet in the field though as he was suffering with sunstroke.

Downing – Looked full of confidence and uncharacteristically used the cut shot to good effect. Started slowly, but accelerated towards the end to help achieve a club record partnership.

Sindrey – Bowled two very nice four over spells and was grossly hard done by not to earn a wicket or two. The Rosaneri fans will be hoping that the back holds up for next week.

Ma. Freeman – This was the game for Mat that you always dream of. A lovely opening spell that secured a vital breakthrough and then back with a bang to finish the game off in style. So much style that he even took the difficult option to win the game by bowling the daddy batsman rather than the rabbit. Rather similar to a showy Bobby George going 25, 25, Bullseye for a 100 check out !

G. Cox – A great start to the season by bowling a tidy line and length that got reward by taking two top order wickets.

S. Underwood – Used as a carthorse by the skipper to get through 10 overs, but returned sensational figures to get his season off to a top start. The game had certainly started to look like a draw until Stephen made things happen with a couple of crucial wickets. Also took the lead in the Golden Fielder competition with a caught and bowled.
