For today’s Closer Look we are focussing on Andy Underwood.
Andy had an excellent 2009 on the bare stats by accumulating 450 runs at an average of 34.62. He also smashed two centuries with a best of a 138 not out in that magnificent innings at Ware.
However, most of the good work was done in the early part of the season and Andy’s form took a massive nosedive from midsummer onwards. What went wrong ?
Good question, and in truth the answer in unknown.
Whatever went wrong, Andy needs to put it right and have a run festival that lasts all summer for 2010.
Word has it that Andy has never been fitter and is trained to the minute physically like a prize fighter to hit the ground running on April the 18th.
Andy must target all the batting awards again this year and a dream season would be the Batting Triple Crown of Most Runs, Best Average and Most 6’s. He must also have a great chance in the Golden Fielder Trophy as well, as he has gone close in the past.
Some solid winter net bowling displays may well get Andy a few more overs this year, as his bowling has been overlooked since he started whacking centuries for fun.
