The final piece of the jigsaw
Today we announce the final weekend game for 2010 to complete the fixture list.
On Saturday the 28th of August we are off to Essex agian to take on Great Canfield. The game will be a 40 over shoot out at what we are promised is a lovely venue.
The following extract was taken from Great Canfiled's website which may give us an indication that we may have found a perfect opposition.
1. The Saturday XI play friendlies, not league cricket.
2. The Saturday XI play in the true Corinthian spirit, meaning: we lose a lot, struggle to field a team most Saturdays, have a player age range from 13-53 (and older), but have A Right Laff taking part.
3. We play at a beautiful leafy ground which is the envy of all the local league teams (another good reason not to play them) and have had a new pavilion built, courtesy of a local benefactor.
4. The Eastons, Sampfords and Lindsell are our rivals. Beating any of these teams this season will make it all worthwhile.
Additional midweek Twenty/20 games may follow.
