Vs Belhus

Mi. Freeman – Wasn’t at his best while bowling but managed to return a magnificent 3 wickets to put the pinks well on top at tea. Made a great diving stop while fielding, but it was the batting that Mike did best of all. Looked calm and assured as he picked off bad balls and defended the good until he was undone by a spinner.

Tyrrell – Took two nice catches in the field and looked ready for a big score with the bat until disaster struck too early for the pinks chances of winning.

Ma. Freeman – Played as a batsman in this one and looked very much at home until being cleaned out by a jaffa from the only pace bowler. Bowled a couple of quality overs and fielded to the highest all round standard seen all season.

A. Underwood – Totally lost his composure when batting by playing a rancid shot while facing only his 3rd ball. Did manage a couple of tidy overs, but was harshly dealt with by the umpire on the wide count.

Levett – Fielded very nicely in his favoured fine leg refuge, but sprang to life with the bat to smash very valuable runs to the team cause. Surely will get an advertisement role soon for the Maltese brandy producers.

Akyuz – Kept wicket with authority and energy, and in the process took a trademark razor sharp stumping. Is badly in need of winter nets though to brush up in the run scoring department.

S. Shewring – Bowled well in a straight 8 over spell at the start of the innings against the best batsmen. Carried the hopes of Rosaneri supporters with the bat after his previous innings, but the end came earlier than required.

Downing – A good spell of bowling that steadied the run rate and snaffled crucial top order wickets. Batted patiently and just as he had his eye in he ran out of partners.

Ni. Shewring – Two more wickets to add to a season of plenty and as usual probably unlucky not to make further additions. The batting for the year did end on a duff note though with Golden Duck in the most uncharacteristic circumstances.

G. Mully – Bowled much better than his figures suggested, but his batting again stole the show. The no nonsense approach got the supporters very excited and the big six gave everyone associated with the club a bit of pride.

S. Underwood – Opened the bowling with one of the spells of the season that tied down and frustrated good players. Took two good catches and then continued the good work with the bat by playing correctly and accumulating valuable late additions to the total.
