Vs Eastons

Mi. Freeman – In truth had a shocker as he was dismissed by the first ball of the match and then bowled in a fashion that was thrashed to the boundary. Did take a nice catch though and notably asked the captain to take him off for the sake of the result.

Alfieri – This was Tony’s best innings for the club. He held his nerve in the middle of an early crisis, stood up to hostile bowling on an untrustworthy surface and went on to play textbook cover drives that had the crowd purring. He also pouched a great catch to spark the pinks drive to victory.

Sparrey – Dealt with a barrage of unplayable deliveries before heading back to the hutch from a poorly judged shot. Bowled in a lovely groove and deservedly picked up 4 wickets.

A. Underwood – Helped to restore stability after the early chaos, but couldn’t hang around to make a big score that Rosaneri fans have come to expect. Captained well, but probably should have had a few overs himself towards the end.

Akyuz – Spent time in the middle with the bat on a difficult wicket which will be beneficial as he feels his way back into cricket. Kept wicket to an exceptional standard and claimed two victims with a stumping and a catch, both of which were far from routine. He has now claimed 5 victims from 2 stints behind the stumps.

M. Cox – Looked a new man with the bat this week and added valuable runs to a desperate Rosaneri total. This was a massive step forward on a pitch that made every single ball a challenge.

Sindrey – Failed a pre match fitness test for his bowling so set his stool out to bat within himself and accumulate what he could. Defended good balls and put away anything bad with aplomb. Went on to record a brilliant maiden half century for the club and lead the pinks to a match winning total.

Downing – Batted calmly and helped Paul to put Rosaneri totally in control on a difficult pitch. Bowled a tight line and length, but only managed to get a token 3 overs.

Ma. Freeman – Batted with his usual, “you will have to get me out” approach and added vital runs in the push to set up a victory. Bowled tidily and took a superb catch that ended the home team’s chances by taking out their premiere batsmen.

Ni. Shewring -  Bowled superbly and returned his best ever figures for Rosaneri. Managed to get the ball to grip and bounce which caused all batsmen massive problems. This haul has been coming all year and now it is finally in the bag. Top work.
